(May 6, 2016) Gannon University announces the appointment of R. Scott Rash, CFRE as vice president for university advancement.

In this position Rash is responsible for the University's annual fund, corporate and foundation relations, major gifts and gift planning, endowment, capital campaigns, alumni and constituent relations efforts, stewardship, and advancement services. Rash will lead the team's next phase of historic success. With two months remaining in the current fiscal year, Gannon University has already recorded the most successful fundraising year in its history, with $11.3 million raised to date. The Vision 2020 Campaign, which will conclude on June 30, has already surpassed its $40 million goal.

Rash comes to Gannon from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, where he has served as executive director and chief development officer of the School of Engineering Foundation since 2010. Before entering the fund raising profession, Rash served as head baseball coach at Greensboro College from 1992-2002, where he led a start-up program to a Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in only its sixth season, and was twice named the conference coach of the year. Along with being the baseball coach, Rash also served in ancillary roles as admissions counselor, sports information director, and associate athletic director during his time at Greensboro.

Rash is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia where he received a bachelor's degree in business and economics. He is a member of the Virginia Association of Fund Raising Executives and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
