Utah Valley University (UVU) is pleased to announce that Sue Jackson, Ph.D., has been selected as the new dean of the College of Health and Public Service.

Jackson brings a dynamic vision for growth, collaboration, and the development of workforce-ready pathways that strengthen communities across Utah. Her leadership is rooted in a commitment to expanding access to health education and fostering partnerships that address critical statewide workforce needs.

Prior to her appointment as dean, Jackson led UVU’s Healthcare Expansion Initiative, where she played a pivotal role in launching new programs and increasing capacity to meet the growing demands of the healthcare sector. She also served as the university’s resident epidemiologist during the COVID-19 pandemic, guiding public health efforts with expertise and care.

A tenured full professor of public health, Jackson holds a Ph.D. in health promotion and education from the University of Utah.

Jackson has dedicated over 17 years to UVU, and we are grateful for her leadership as interim dean since April. She has also served as associate dean and department chair, bringing a wealth of experience and insight to her new role. Please join us in welcoming Jackson to her new role and in supporting her continued efforts to advance the mission of the College of Health and Public Service.
