Craig Rogers, who is currently serving as Chief Development Officer at Hargrave Military Academy, has been named Vice President of Advancement at Piedmont College.

In this role, Rogers will serve as the college’s chief advancement officer and develop and direct annual and endowment support, planned giving, major gifts, and alumni relations. He will also oversee Piedmont’s marketing and communications.

A native of Charlottesville, Virginia, Rogers is a graduate of the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, North Carolina) and earned a M.Ed from Averett University (Danville, Virginia). While at Hargrave, a college preparatory school located in Chatham, Virginia, he helped double the value of the annual fund and facilitated one of the academy’s largest seven-figure gifts.

Rogers has also served in advancement leadership roles at Hampden-Sydney College and Longwood University.

“Craig Rogers has an impressive track record of building relationships, fundraising, and motivating and leading teams,” said Piedmont College President James F. Mellichamp. “He is an optimistic, high-energy leader who understands the challenges and opportunities impacting higher education philanthropy.”

Rogers will begin his new duties July 8.

“My wife, Denise, and I are excited to join the Piedmont family,” said Rogers. “I am looking forward to working with our alumni, friends, and the college community to cultivate resources and help position Piedmont as one of the finest regional colleges in the Southeast.”
