Augusta University Appoints Smith as Assistant Professor in Information Technology

The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Augusta University has appointed James Smith, DBA, MBA,CISSP, to the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology. Dr. Smith will begin his work at the university in June 2018.

Prior to joining Augusta University, Dr. Smith has served as Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Cybersecurity in the College of Engineering and Computing at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He also has held academic roles at Georgia Southern University and Mercer University.

In addition to his work in higher education, he has served as President and Principal Consultant of Bluereef Group, LLC, since 2009, and Director of MMI Capital, LLC, since 2014.

After receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Information Technology from Georgia Southern University, he earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Mercer University. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree in Information Technology from Kennesaw State University.
