University of West Florida names Anderson the next Associate Vice President for Development
The University of West Florida has selected Cynthia B. Anderson, MBA, CFRE, to serve as Associate Vice President for Development. She has held development leadership roles since 1986.
Currently the Chief Development Officer, Southern Region, for the American College of Rheumatology Research Foundation in Atlanta, Ga., she was previously the Assistant Vice President of Advancement at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Formerly she had served as the Executive Director of Advancement at The Ohio State University, where she rose through the development ranks from Associate Director of Development.
Prior to her 12-year career in higher education, she held leadership positions in not-for-profit organizations, including On My Own, a Division of Developmental Disabilities, Inc.; Girl Scouts, Seal of Ohio Council; and Doctor’s Hospital Development Foundation.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Marylhurst University. A Certified Fund Raising Executive, she holds a Certificate of Non-Profit Management from Case Western University. The Central Ohio Association of Fundraising Professionals recognized her as the 2012 Fundraising Executive of the Year.
