Southern Utah University selects Pearson to lead the School of Business

Southern Utah University has selected Mary B Pearson, CPA to serve as Dean of the School of Business. She brings 22 years of experience in higher education to this position.

Ms. Pearson has been a member of the business school faculty at Southern Utah University since 1999 and has served as Interim Dean of the School of Business since July 2017. During her career at SUU, she has been recognized numerous times for her outstanding teaching, including the Educator of the Year Award from the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce in 2016.

In addition to her work at the university, she is the owner of Mary B Pearson, CPA LLC. She also serves as chairwoman of the Planning and Zoning Commission for Cedar City, Utah, and is a member of the Audit Committee for Beaver County School District in Beaver, Utah.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accountancy degrees from Southern Utah University.  She is completing her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in Advanced Accounting from Northcentral University, Scottsdale, Arizona.
