Austin Peay State University Selects Corvey to Lead School of Nursing
Austin Peay State University in Tennessee has selected Rebecca Corvey, R.N., Ed.D., to serve as Director of the School of Nursing. Dr. Corvey will bring more than 30 years in professional nursing practice and nursing education in areas of teaching, program development, and administration to this leadership role.
Dr. Corvey currently serves as Dean and Professor of Nursing of the School of Health Sciences at Middle Georgia State University, which was Middle Georgia State College (2013-2015) and Macon State College (prior to 2013). She has had a leadership role in the nursing program since 2003, except when she served as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2009 to 2011.
Her career also include service at Georgia College & State University; Heart of Georgia Woman’s Center; The Pain Care Center, Columbia Coliseum Medical Centers in Georgia; Central Georgia Rehabilitation Hospital; Houston Medical Center in Georgia, Eastern Maine Medical Center in Maine; and Catholic Medical Center School of Nursing in New Hampshire.
Dr. Corvey holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Master in Nursing Science degree, Clinical Nurse Specialist, from the University of Arkansas School of Medical Sciences. She earned her Doctor of Education degree at the University of Georgia, where she was tapped for Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.
