Middle Georgia State University Names Holt the Dean of the School of Business
After a national search, Middle Georgia State University has selected Dr. Michael Kenneth Holt to be the Dean of the School of Business. Dr. Holt brings more than 27 years of experience leading university operations and educational business program.
Dr. Holt currently serves as Associate Professor in the College of Business at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. From 2012 to 2014, he was Chair of Management, Marketing and General Business Department. As Chair, he achieved AACSB candidacy at APSU, with accreditation expected spring 2017, leading a department of 12 faculty members in instructing 400 graduate and undergraduate students during candidacy while overseeing college-wide efforts to review and revise graduate and undergraduate curricula.
Prior to joining APSU, he was Associate Professor and chair of the MBA Academics at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. He previously taught 21 years at Union University in Jackson, Tenn., serving two terms as Chair of the School of Business.
With a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Union University, he earned a master’s in economics from Louisiana State University and a doctoral degree in management from the University of Memphis. Dr. Holt has published extensively.
