Judy Lunsford

Judy Lunsford, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, has had an extensive career in public relations and marketing in corporate, governmental, and educational settings. She joined Myers McRae in 2008.

She spent more than 16 years at Mercer University, where she served as Associate Vice president of University Relations and Marketing from 1980 to 1988 and from 2000 to 2008 in the Department of University Advancement. She directed a staff of writers and designers, working with all of the university’s 11 schools and colleges and other units and partnerships of the university. Her responsibilities included media relations, university publications, advertising, web site design and content, photography, crisis communications, and marketing.

A journalism graduate of Mississippi University for Women, she has received awards in news and feature writing, photography, and publication design. While serving as Library Community Relations Manager for the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System, a system of 42-libraries providing services to almost a million Fulton County residents, from 1988 to 2000, she oversaw  staff and departments responsible for media relations, marketing, special events, graphic design, printing. and the county's cable station. With her staff, she developed and implemented three major public relations campaigns that won the prestigious John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Award, presented by the American Library Association and the H.W. Wilson Company.One of these awards was for the opening celebration of the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African-American Culture and History.

Early in her career, she was a Public Information Specialist with the Georgia Power Company in Atlanta. Working in the company's publications department, she won regional and local awards in writing and photography. The department also won ADDY awards for publications.
